We live in a world where more true leaders are required. Â People called to make a difference that are willing to get past their internal nonsense and stake their claim as leaders worth following. Â Here are a few ideas for you to help you fit the bill and have the impact and influence you need, to follow your calling and make a difference.
1) Get Clear on What You Are Here to Do
Lots of people get stuck at this step because they get caught up in undisciplined thinking.  If you allow your mind to run riot, then you will give into thoughts of lack, fear, and uncertainty. Ultimately, it will result in you not showing up in the arena where you would like to make a difference.  One thing I do daily to ensure that I show up confidently, is write down who I choose to be, what I choose to accomplish and what i choose to create.  I connect with my higher power each morning and write the above three things down.
I leave that 15-60 minute session feeling a lot more assured of who I am which then enables me to pass that clear energy onto the people I feel called to serve.
What simple practice could you implement daily that will get your mind focused on the day?
2) Let Go of Any Shame
You may have made mistakes in the past that make you feel shameful. Â However those very same mistakes could be the reason that people will look to you for guidance. Â It is the fact that you have lived life, made mistakes, overcome them and are still standing that can give people hope so do not allow internal shame about who you have been in the past, hold you back from showing up powerfully in the present.
Also, you may have some religious beliefs that make you feel like a worm as you are told frequently that there is something inherently wrong with you, such as being born bad and this beliefs will cause you to pull back from leadership as you may feel wrong and unable to lead yourself, how much more anyone else.
Know this – THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH YOU! Â Stop looking for the flaws and choose to step up and make the difference you feel called to make.
3) Let Go of Unworthiness
You may feel that the vision you have for your life is way too big for little old you. Â You may feel like you are too unworthy of the mantle or the mission. Â Know this – Your vision is your permission. Â Your creator has planted that vision within you and there is simply no mistake about it. Â It is yours to create or to ignore. Â You are as worthy of it as you choose to be.
CHOOSE TO BE Worthy!
Choose to let go of any self-doubt and simply put your hand to the plough and NEVER EVER take it off. Â Every day, do something to take you and your vision forward, regardless of how you feel. Â Although, do remember that your feelings are usually based on your thinking so if you are feeling unworthy, what thought is in your mind continually telling you a lie. Â Retrain your brain to think better thoughts.
4)Â Let Go of Money Fears
Stop thinking that money is wrong or evil. Â Stop making it bad to be paid to do the work you feel called to do. Â This is something I say to my clients all the time – The more people you serve, the more money you make and the more money you make, the more people you can serve! Â You might want to live by that mantra as well. Â If you are going to impact the people you feel called to, then you need to be able to make a living from the work that you do. Â You will not be able to keep things going if you are continually feeling broke and living with lack. Â At some point, you will have to make a decision to work just for money, doing something you do not like if you do not take responsibility for figuring out how to live out your calling and also create an income from it.
Do not believe the money fear. Â Providing a service to another person and being paid for it is not wrong. Â It is essential for them to get value from what you offer and also for you to continue being able to offer the service. Â i personally believe that everyone needs to be financially independent – Abundance is your birthright, you know!
5) Call in Your People
It is one thing to have a calling to make a difference and a completely other thing to promote yourself and your message so that your people can find you and be served by you. Â You may have the most amazing service or product, book, music, art on the planet but if no one knows it exists then no one is being served and if no one is being served, no difference is being made and certainly no money is being made. Â I know you do not do this work for the money, you do it because you truly believe in how you can help your people. Â GREAT! Â Now choose to show up in the marketplace, sharing who you are, what you believe and how you can help people – Communicate, capture them onto a mailing list and then make them an offer that will make a difference to them.
Do these 5 things daily so that you get out of your own way and continually serve more and more people. Â You then become the servant-leader you are called to be, making a difference on the planet as you go. No longer a spectator on the planet but an active participant and bringer of change.
