7 Positive Beliefs That Will Change Your Life

Positive beliefs give us the backbone it takes to pursue a life we find worth living. Instil the following positive beliefs into your very essence to transform from a life of "meh" to a life of "heck yes!"

1. You are in control off your destiny… 

There are some environmental, genetic and economic realities we cannot escape, at least not immediately, but ultimately you are in the drivers seat of all the choices that shape your life.  The decisions you make or don't make determine how your existence plays out, so don't become a passive bystander or a serial blamer who is not willing to take control. Once you begin to take charge, all of a sudden it becomes a lot easier to take pride in all the successes that are just waiting for you to take action and grab them!

2. Life is a gift… 

Everyday is an extraordinary gift. In this life we are only allotted a certain amount of days- 27,375 days on average to be exact. Make sure that you do not take advantage of the beauty and joy that life can offer us everyday by not bothering to take a moment to pay attention. Even something as small as taking the time to enjoy the outdoors everyday can enhance life in an invaluable way, and it takes little to no effort from you at all.

3. Experiences are lessons…

Bad and good experiences both can be lessons that teach us how to live more intelligently in the future. This is especially to remember during bad experiences where we may experience a loss of some sort. When you are going through tough times, try to see what you are learning from the experience to help get through until the next, hopefully better, day.

4. Self love is a powerful force…  

Learning to love yourself is a cliche lesson, but a lot of cliches exist for one reason- they're true. Once we learn to love every aspect of ourselves, even the "flaws", it becomes a lot easier to take on life without obstacles from fruitless hang-ups about our own identity. So stop worrying that you aren't good enough, so that you can start actually improving yourself and the world around you.

5. You need to be the change you want to see in the world…

It is so easy to get caught up in all the negativity in the world, then as a result either becoming negative or apathetic yourself. Newsflash: if you are negative and/or apathetic you are part of the problem. Live a life as if you are setting an example for all those other schmucks out there who are making a mess of things.

 

6. The past is a place of reference, not residence…

Dwelling on the past will not change it. I repeat. Dwelling on the past will not a change it. Such a simple lesson yet somehow so many people cannot seem to learn it. The only thing that dwelling on the past will do is ruin the present and future. Take the lessons from the past away, but leave the angst behind. Moping about the past is for the birds!

7. Happiness is the result of the way you think…

Happiness is not something to be sought after by finding the right job, partner, location or any of that- it is all inside your brain. The only one who can determine whether your happy or not is you, so start believing that happiness is right here and now.
