6 Sure Signs You Are Being Energetically Drained

Do you know what it feels like to have the life sucked out of you? We all know what being physically and emotionally drained feels like but what about energetically drained? You’ve heard the term time vampires before but did you know that these vampires have the power of energetically draining you too?

Here are some signs that you are being energetically drained. If you have experienced any of these signs, then you should probably avoid these people in the future or try to limit the time you spend with them. I’ll give you a tip or two at the end of this on how to revive your energy once it’s been sucked out of you.

energetically_drained1. When people take advantage of your kindness and good nature.

You are a yes person and have such a difficult time saying no. In pains you to have to use the word no, so you just yes instead. This pattern of saying yes all the time is draining you because you know the people that keep asking are taking advantage of you. Almost to the point where there is nothing left of you.

2. Hanging with negative people for too long.

There’s that negative Nancy again and you can’t get away from her. She has you cornered and you are now subjected to her ranting and venting about her family, her husband and everybody else who has done her wrong. So much negativity and no matter how hard you try to shield yourself from her, it’s futile. The minute she leaves, you are exhausted.

3. If you are in an abusive situation (verbally, mentally, emotionally) or with a narcissist.

These people do not care about you one tiny bit. They are angry and hurtful and will use you to lash out at. Your feelings or self respect is not their concern. You will be bashed, berated and belittled until they feel better. You will also be so energetically empty you will probably feel like curling up in a ball and dying. Get away from these people as fast as you can and don’t let them back in your life.

4. Being the only one in a relationship trying to make it work.

The other person is complacent and doesn’t see a problem where you know one exists. Nothing is working and you are desperately hanging on to the last thread of love there is. The other person goes ab out their day like it’s nobody’s business and is completely oblivious to the struggle you are facing. If you are in a relationship like this, maybe it’s time to pack it in. Relationships are two ways, not single sided.

5. When someone talks at you and not to or with you.

I don’t mean venting or yelling but you know that one person who never asks how you are or what is going on with your life? They go on and on about how fantastic their life is, what great things are going on, the things they just bought, the trips they’ve been on and it never ends. It’s exhausting. They didn’t even stop to breathe. Their done talking and you’re done too. There is a diplomatic way to excuse yourself from that. Figure it out and fast.

6. Not taking any me time.

When you run around constantly day in and day out for everyone else but yourself, you will eventually crash. You will definitely suffer a physical crash but energetically you be spent. Nothing left. Done. Taking time for yourself is of the utmost importance. You are a people pleaser and there really is nothing wrong with that as long as you take care of person number one, which is you.

Have you experienced any of these? My guess is yes, we all have. Though shielding from all this sometimes does work there are times when we need more than that. Sage smudging and using lavender or lemon grass spritzing is also very beneficial. You can use these in y our personal space. These are simple little tricks to get your energy back. Meditation is also very helpful as is a nice long nap.
