What is your nomination for linkbait of the year?

picture of digital linkbait networkLinkbaiting was one of the buzzwords for 2006 and no doubt will continue into
2007. The practice of linkbaiting will no doubt become more sophisticated
and will become part of an all round SEO strategy.

I researched ‘linkbaiting’ for a few months and wanted to try
and write an article to attract links, however I never got round to it. I
became too enthralled with the psychology of linkbaiting and how clever people
had become in their linkbaiting strategies.

Have a search around Google and you will find thousands of articles on the
subject so no need to explain here what linkbaiting actually is.

I wanted to compile a list of the top linkbaits for 2006.

My number one would have to be the recent Time magazine article ‘Time
person of the year award: You’

The article stated:

In 2006, the World Wide Web became a tool for bringing together
the small contributions of millions of people and making them matter.

What a great way to bring readers to the site, a stroke of genius I’d
say.
