Our beliefs control how we live our life. If we choose to live our life acting on our self-limiting beliefs then we accept a life that is going nowhere and our future is grim. People who lead successful and joyful lives have achieved this by choosing beliefs that support and empower them on their life journey.

Beliefs are the thoughts that influence our behaviour, attitude and actions. The beliefs that affect our lives are either  Empowering Beliefs, which enable us to lead flourishing and successful lives or  Self Limiting Beliefs  where we live our lives dissatisfied, discontent and full of regret.

If you are not earning as much money as you like or you are struggling financially, this is a sign that your self-limiting beliefs are holding you back.

If you are earning lots of money but your personal life is a mess, this is also a sign that your self-limiting beliefs are controlling your life.

The number one thing that will determine your success in life is your mindset. Your attitude towards your life is what creates your current reality. If you are surviving and thriving in life and you are optimistic about your future, your self-empowering beliefs are leading you in the right direction to living a life you love.

This of course is what we all desire, to live a live a life we love. For those of us who haven’t got there yet, there is hope. Taking action to master the self-limiting beliefs that are holding you back in life will set you on a journey to living the life you desire. Embracing the beliefs that empower and motivate you will build your confidence, your resilience and your ability to survive and thrive in life.

Three Key Strategies To Mastering Your Limiting Self-Beliefs

Your self-liming beliefs are deep within your subconscious mind and the only way you can gain control of them is by questioning and challenging them. Before you can start questioning these beliefs however you have to find them and this is the most challenging part of your journey to living a life you love.

There are 3 key strategies you can use to find out exactly what thoughts, attitudes and behaviours are blocking you from achieving success in life.

Strategy 1: Use Your Power Of Choice

The power of choice is a wonderful gift that we all have within us. It is this gift that enables us to make choices about what we want to believe and what we don’t want to believe.

Those who lead successful lives have chosen to believe in the thoughts that empower them and of course those who live a life of mediocrity and struggle have chosen to believe in the thoughts that disempower them.

Beliefs are  only thoughts  and  they are not real  and as a result with the power of choice we can change our thoughts anytime we want. The first step to changing how we think and feel is, to decide what the consequences are, if choose to act on our beliefs.  Don’t worry about if your beliefs are right or wrong just determine what the results will be if you act on them.

This does take some practice but how long it takes depends on you! You just need to decide what empowering beliefs you want to have to enable you to live a life you love.

By choosing to embrace your empowering beliefs you create within you the energy and desire. These are the key ingredients you need to fuel you to take action to change your life.

Strategy 2 Step Into Your Courage

“All personal breakthroughs begin with a change in beliefs. So how do we change? The most effective way is to get your brain to associate massive pain to the old belief. You must feel deep in your gut that not only has this belief cost you pain in the past, but it’s costing you in the present and, ultimately, can only bring you pain in the future. Once you have become aware of the specific self-limiting beliefs that are holding you back, you now need to be prepared to step out of your comfort zone. To follow your dream to success you have to accept that your life and the way you live it will need to change.

You also have to accept that to change your life you will experience some pain and discomfort. Your self-limiting beliefs will try to encourage you to stay in your comfort zone because it is familiar and you feel safe there.

Stepping out of your comfort zone into the unknown is scary and your self-limiting beliefs will tell you this. Your self-limiting beliefs will also try to convince you that your feelings of discontent, dissatisfaction are actually your friends and that life is really not that terrible!

Using your power of choice to take action to change your life is the first step to finding your courage. Change is a painful process and it is scary however if you have prepared yourself well and you have engaged the self-empowering beliefs you need to keep your strong, your chances of success are 100 per cent guaranteed.
Finding your courage and stepping out of your comfort zone is a step-by-step process. Having a strategy and a well-defined life plan will provide you with purpose, focus and direction. These are the key elements to helping you stay committed and motivated on this life journey to success.

Your mindset and attitude is key to your success in life. Embrace the beliefs that will empower you, help you find your courage and lead you to achieving your goals and living the life you desire.

Strategy 3 Plan For The Unexpected

To survive this journey of change and to stay courageous you must plan for the unexpected. You have no control over life events happening to you. You do however have control over how you respond to these events.

Prepare yourself for those unexpected events and accept that they may happen. When the unexpected happens do not let these events bring your world to a crashing halt.

By preparing for the unexpected challenges of life your resiliency strengthens and your ability to bounce back is a lot faster. You may fall to your knees when you face the unexpected but you wont lie down and give up.

Preparing for the unexpected is also about you being ready for what tomorrow may bring.

So how do you prepare for the unexpected?

Well, here are 3 very simple steps that will help you to prepare.

Step 1. Acknowledge the Unexpected

Accept that there are life events you can’t control. You can however control how you react and deal with these challenging events. Spend some time thinking about possible scenarios that could challenge you or throw you off course.

Often it is not the life events that throw us off track but our self-limiting beliefs that pop up when we are feeling at our most vulnerable. This when an action plan is good to have, which is, Step 2.

Step 2. Prepare by Making An Action Plan by answering these 2 questions

How would you deal with this obstacle when it comes up?
What steps would you put in action to get over this hurdle?

Step 3. Move On

Keep moving forward. Don’t stop and wait for your self-limiting beliefs to kick in because they will if you stand still.

Be flexible and ready to change your plan and maybe your goals however your vision of the life you want to live will never change.

Your empowering beliefs will fuel your self-belief, help you find your courage and keep you moving toward your goals.

That’s it. By following these 3 steps you will have a pretty good sense of how you will react when the unexpected happens to you.

If you are living your life and it is full of discontent, dissatisfaction, sadness and regret, without a doubt your self-limiting beliefs are controlling your life.
