About

Hi Welcome to Change Your Thoughts blog
My name is Steven Aitchison and Change Your Thoughts is a place to visit to help you try and change your thinking patterns, behaviors, beliefs and thought processes to live the life you were truly born to live. It is my passion to help people see the good in themselves and help change their negative thinking patterns and outdated beliefs about themselves. We are all brought up with other people’s beliefs and a lot of them are outdated and my aim is to help you look at life from a new perspective and change your life, should you wish.
I write about everything that will help to change your life for the better, some things you might like some things you might not like but there will always be something useful that you might be able to use to help you in some way.
The main topics covered in Change Your Thoughts blog are:
- Beliefs and how to change them
- Thinking patterns
- Habits
- Goal setting
- Confidence building
- Productivity
- Values and principles
About Me
I was born and raised in Scotland, UK and stay in the west of Scotland with my wife and two sons who I adore. I work as an addiction worker, counseling clients with alcohol and drug addictions.
Why did I start the blog?
My life has been far from perfect and I have experienced a lot of issues in my life such as depression, bankruptcy, debt, confidence issues, self esteem issues, poor self image and feelings of worthlessness. I have managed to turn this around over the course of twenty years and (I am now 40) I honestly could not be happier. I started the blog 3 years ago as I love writing and it was self help books from the likes of Jack Black (the Personal Development Jack, not the film star jack), Anthony Robbins, Og Mandino and others which helped me all those years ago. I turned my attention to writing self help articles and found I loved it and the interaction with readers was great so I had found my new passion.
I truly believe that no matter where you are in life, no matter how bad you think your life is you can turn it around, I know, I have done it myself and i didn’t believe it would be possible at one point so I know how you feel if you are in the same situation. If you are looking to tweak your life a little then Change Your Thoughts is also a great place to hang out.
Please contact me if you have any questions
Best Wishes
Steven Aitchison

Hi Steven,
I really like your message.
I agree that no matter what we have experienced or the challenges we face, we truly can live a happy life. All those experiences that we don’t necessarily enjoy are meant to teach us.
Love your blog.
Thanks so much for all you do.
I’ll be back.

I just happened to come across this, and, in a way, I can relate to it. I am going through a phase right now, and have been for a while, where I am extremely anxious and lacking confidence when I am out and about. For example, walking to the shops on my own and seeing someone I know, I find it really hard to smile at them, and sometimes, I will cross the road to avoid having to do this. I’ve always disliked the way I look, never been happy with who was staring back at them in the mirror and I think it has stemmed from that. I recently left my job, after realising it wasn’t making me happy – I was breaking down in tears most days, if not every day….something that has not happened to me before. I have now made the right career path and I am looking forward to my future – apart from this anxious/lacking confidence/do not believe in myself thing. I also believe that when people look at me, I always think that they are thinking horrible things and somehow convince myself of this – again, something I hate. I dont know what to do to change it, please, if you have any tips, i’d really appreciate it, i just want to find me again and be happy.
I discovered your blog a couple months ago, and have found it to be uplifting, practical and motivating. I’m one of those people who got laid off in the recession and am truly excited about re-inventing myself in my own business. This is the perfect time for me to read your blogs. Thank you.
Hi Steven,
Finally managed to get on your site. Wow ! how impressive and interesting too much to absorb in one night. I will be back.

Hello steven,
An ignorant person has its room to live. It was just an accident to open your blog when it was linked to something I was looking for – that time the “kaizen”. I saw and read your astonishing articles and started appreciate how wonderful to be in this blog…I then started sharing your articles to my friends and all of them really like it so much. They said keep on sending messages like these everyday. Congratulations. Truly you are inspiring.
