Great answer Emma
I see light within…a core of beauty protected…layers revealing truth.
Clearly Composed recently posted.. Summer Fun Series- The Spontaneous Adventure
Don’t worry Steve. I got it straight away. It’s very Buddha like. Teaching without words is the sign of genius.

Hi Richard. Thanks for your comment, I appreciate it
Very Zen!!!!!
Thanks Steve.

It tells me to stop over-analyzing and letting the computer geek in me take over…. scrolling up and down the page looking for the text that my mind said should be there….. thinking of all the technical things that could have happened to cause such a website error… virus, database loading contently slowly, image hiding the text layer, unexpected overwrite, U.E. (user error), etc.
The most profound lesson for me in this moment is that sometimes you should just just accept things as they appear–no analysis necessary.

Nea, you got all that
I think accepting things as they are is spot on.
Life, it blooms. I love it Steven. At first I thought there’s a mistake with the article. Glad I checked the comments.

Hi Nik.
I think a few people might have done that. Thanks for stopping by, good seeing you.

It just is. The Lily doesn’t know it is beautiful or smells wonderful, or that it even entertains and excites our minds. It just does what it is suppose to do; be a water lily – lotus. A fine example of what I could be, just me. No expectations, no living in the past, it doesn’t remember if it was there last year, doesn’t worry if it will be there next year, it is present right now. What a wonderful thoughtful post, thank you for reminding me, the present is where I need to be.
Hi Lise, you have expressed this beautifully and I thank you for that. A lot of us live in the past or are projecting ourselves into the future, wishing our lives away when the only real moment we are living is this very second. Thanks for your comments.
hey,

found your blog when iv seen your comment on vincents site.
just wanted tell u that i think you have pretty creative topics and im looking forward checking out your blog regulary.
keep it up.
welcome to CYT Alex it’s great having you here and even better that you have reached out with a comment, thank you.
At first I don’t understand. But as I focus on the flower I am able to appreciate its beauty and I have confined myself to the present moment. It’s amazing how our expectations can blind us to seeing what really is.
Thanks for your comments Walter. It’s a little bit like life, at first we don’t really understand what’s going on then we learn to accept, appreciate and finally see the beauty of it.
My understanding of the lesson : like the lily, out of mud (where the lily’s feet are), you can create beauty ?
Indeed, this is just why Buddha is always represented on top of a giant lily flower. But developing yourself (hint, hint
everybody can grow from mud to beauty !
Besides, the lily does not try to be perfect : it just is (hint again
Nice post, thanks !
The lesson here is what you wanted it to be and your lesson is a beautiful thought and is the lesson that’s right for you today. Come back tomorrow and the lesson will be different. Thanks Nicolas for leaving your thoughts, it’s great to see you join in here.
Learn to handle disappointment?
Thanks for your thoughts Archana, I appreciate it.
There is beauty personified here….:)

I am so glad you see this Lana, beauty surrounds us, literally, yet we walk around with our eyes closed. Thank you for seeing.
It’s a pretty amazing looking flower, but also slightly creepy because it is floating in midair and it’s colors are brighter than natural.
Mia it is an amazing flower. Your response is really interesting to me.
What a refreshing post and most definitely a contemplative one.
We, as a society, are heavily weighed down by peer pressure. It takes courage to do things differently, to hold one’s nerve.
I admire the abstract and veer towards the surreal. I find that art and life mimic each other in perpetuity. I like that. It means conformity will never be absolute.
Best wishes.
Luke, I am so glad you recognised this post for what it was, I have said already that it was inspired by the teachings of Buddha however the question that led to this post was ‘Could a blog post be a piece of art?’
Whoooooooa.
I get it.
Ace post.
.-= Brett – DareToExpress.com´s last blog ..New Books and an Epiphany =-.
I am glad you liked this Brett. The post is inspired by teachings from the Buddha. In one of his sermons he held up a Lotus and didn’t speak a word for hours and one of the monks smiled and said ‘I get it’, just amazing isn’t it.
I was going to ask the same question as the first comment, but glad I wasn’t the guinea pig
Regards,
Kai

Does that tell you something about yourself?
Steve, thanks for demonstrating the courage and the leadership to do things differently.

Well done, Robin

Robin D, thank you so much. I honestly didn’t know how this post would be received but you got it straight away and saw something and I thank you for that.
Flower is a soft, fragile, but the most beautiful work of nature… That should be everything we do…
Marko, that’s just a great thought and one I thought about a lot ‘A beautiful work of nature’ is such a wonderful thought. Thank you.
I forgot to add that just this simple photo here made me feel FILLED with hope and all things good. So much peace, purity and goodness if we only look. It’s right there at our finger tips.

Beautiful isn’t it, 1 picture can spark a lifetime of change!
Dear Steve, I LOVE this. It is sooooooo cool. I looked here and was immediately taken in my the water lily. I vividly remembered the smell from my youth when I used to canoe the local lake and one end of it was FULL of lilies just like these. The smell is still imprinted on my soul. I loved the peace here with only the photos, I loved the deeply moving simplicity of it. I loved your brilliance for posting just something that forces us to be RIGHT NOW, be peaceful and so so simple. I felt totally STILLED by the whole thing today. I am just hugging you for being so wise and so BEAUTIFULLY creative. You are a rare gem. This made a difference for me. Thank you my dear friend. Robin

Robin ‘Buddha of the net’, your response shows me the person you truly are, a beautiful soul, a creative mind, and a very wise woman. I am always humbled by your words, truly I am.
A good lesson in acceptance without judgment, and living in the moment. Excellent.

Yeh that’s right it’s all in the flower. A picture says a thousand words… wow how profound it’s like looking at a picture of a necked women it all in the experience.
Hi Lloyd, a picture really does speak a thousand words, your response also speaks volumes. Thanks.
The Jewel Is In The Lotus…..
Simple, straightforward and to the point. Thanks Denman
Maybe that’s the point. Appreciate the flower for what it is, nothing more, nothing less.
Either that or the page didn’t upload properly. LOL
Chris
I liked your response to this Chris.
all I see is a flower. Where is the writing?
Okay I couldn’t wait any longer for my replies. Ted the point of this was twofold:
a) You find out a lot about yourself by the responses you give in life. This was an unconventional post and the responses received were fascinating.
b) To look at the Water Lilly (or Lotus) and get a message from it.
Everybody’s message from the Lotus is different.
The flowers are very pretty. The photography is excellent. Always is, really. Even though there is no writing on this blog, it’s just another thing to make one think. Just to make one think, Steve, you do an awesome job at that with all of the articles that you write, and the information that you provide. One can not help but to think, ruminate, and then act.
Thank you kindly!
