This week is a special week for my dear friend, Robin Easton.  Her new book ‘Naked in Eden‘ has just been released and I am so excited for her.

I received a copy a few weeks ago and savoured every single word of it.  I thought rather than write a review I would do a video review.  So here is my video review of Robins new book:

Here is the book trailer for Naked in Eden with Robins Voice.

You can visit Robins blog at Naked in Eden and buy the new book at Amazon from here (no affiliate link)

Here is the link to Jonathan Well’s site where he interviews Robin Easton

I hope you enjoy the book as much as I did and if you have already read it, it would be good to hear your thoughts about it.

  1. I haven’t read it yet since I just heard of it. :) I love the YouTube book trailer you included. It has gorgeous images with such a soothing voice narrating it. This trailer is like a guided meditation. Best of luck to Robin and her beautiful book!

Dear Andrea, I am so glad you mentioned and enjoyed my “Naked in Eden” book trailer. The rainforest is such a powerful place because we are surrounded by an abundance of life. There is 2/3 to 3/4 more life per “area” than anywhere else on the planet. That is why it’s SO crucial that we respect there areas. They are powerfully ancient and have so much to teach us. We can learn “from” Nature, not just “about” Nature. And I am touched by what you said, because the voice in this trailer is mine. Thank you for your kindness. Love blessing to you as well. Robin

    • You’ll love the book Andrea, as Robin said it’s her voice on the video.

Sorry, I’m not able to view these! I would love to listen to both of them but internet to Hawai’i is so erratic and low quality, that videos are very difficult.

    Dear Steven,

I have ordered my copy and can’t wait to read it. I was on vacation and missed the opportunity to gain access to it sooner!

I love that your video review and the trailer – what a great way to introduce Robin’s book.

Robin is almost beyond description – she is magnificent and her heartfelt love comforts and uplifts. Her wisdom and life experience provide guidance. Add to that playfulness and humor and that is Robin!

Thank YOU Steven for sharing your love!

    Lauren

    • Robin Easton says:

Dearest Lauren, I am so grinning and moved from your words here. I always just GRIN when I see you. And there is reason for this. Everything that you say about me is EXACTLY how I experience YOU!! I hope one day to meet you. When I think of you doing the work that you do to help others, I am soooooooo excited about that because I KNOW without doubt that they are getting the “real deal”. They ARE actually getting HELP. And you do it by being so compassionate, no matter the circumstances. You help because you have lived such a pithy life yourself and that has made you wise, and lacking in judgment. You are a very rich woman. Wealthy beyond any words I certainly have. You create a vast space that people can safely fall into and explore who they are, knowing that you will not judge them. THAT is so rare. And it is what we ALL need to heal. I love you, Robin

    • Hi Lauren. As Robin has shown with her replies in this post, she is someone special and someone who wears her heart on her sleeve.

      Thanks for commenting Lauren.

Dear Roman, it is good to meet you. I was just reading your blog and your “about” page. What a life you have lived and amazing changes you have made. I applaud you!! That is a brave act to turn one’s life around, an act that not only changes your life, but the world. Due to your life changes you not create this amazing blog that is wonderful, but you encourage others to grow!! Very positive. Good for you. I too hope you get to read this book. I noticed you are a translator, so maybe you will read it. You have done much with your life. Quite amazing! Robin :)

    • Thanks for stopping by Roman, always appreciate your comments.

  5. Lance says:

    Steven,
Great review of the book – really loved the video of you – which added so much depth to this book. I have a copy of the book, and am looking forward to reading this. Robin is an amazing, amazing soul…and someone who I have valued for a long time, for her perspective on life and it’s journey…

    • Robin Easton says:

Hey dear Lance, so good to see you here!! Anywhere! LOL! I too loved Steven’s video, even beyond his words it’s if he captured (or was still feeling) some feeling from the book, just in the way he expressed himself. I am so glad you have your copy. And more importantly I am deeply touched by your words here. Through you being YOU, you have encouraged me to be more myself in my humor, my loving, my outreach, and just so much more, Lance. You are a bundle of Joy and Love. Powerful combination. Much love, Robin

    • Hi Lance, thanks for your kind words, I didn’t know if I could do the book justice with my review, but I managed to say what I wanted. You’ll love the book Lance, especially since you know Robin so well, it makes it that little bit more special.

  6. I had the good fortune of spending some time in a rainforest on Big Island, Hawaii, recently, it was a very spiritual experience. Your trailer brought this back to me. Thank you.

I have heard a lot about this book, so good to actually hear a review – I really like the video format,
    Many thanks,
    Kate

    • Robin Easton says:

Dear Kate, Yes, I thought what Steve did here was very creative and deeply moving. I’d never seen it done like this. It really conveys his personality and emotion.

Your site is lovely! I SO related to the blackberry excursion as we (my 4 brothers and 1 sister) used to do that as kids with my mom.Your post brought back many found memories. I loved how you connected the life lessons and insights with the “excursion” and even put the lesson in a different color. Very creative. Your whole blog is beautiful. I added it to my RSS feed. :)

    • Hey Kate thanks for your comments. I guess there’s a lot of buzz around the book just now and with good reason. You’ll see from Robins reply to you that she always goes the extra mile which is what’s so special about her.

  8. Hi Steven and Robin!
Steven this is one of my favorite videos of you;) Not only is this a testimonial for Robin’s book, I feel it’s a testimonial of the friendship you have with each other. Another example of how you’ve built a wonderful community at CYT.
    Have a wonderful weekend!

    • Robin Easton says:

Dearest Tess, Yes, this is one of my favorite videos of Steve, in some way I felt I was seeing him for the first time. He revealed as much about himself as he did my book. I don’t think I have words for it. But there is just so much of HIM in this video, very open, raw and emotional.

And Steve is very much like you Tess, both of you have built amazing communities. In these days where we often don’t have small intimate communities of sharing (other than possibly family and a handful of close friends) these types of small online communities are tremendous in their ability to support, heal and love the people involved. I know firsthand that I have grown from being part of them. It has changed my whole view of society, humanity and the world. I never thought I would say that the internet could do that. But it has. Bless you dear Tess for your love and wisdom. Love, Robin

    • Hi Tess, thank you so much for your kind words. I know you have the same values and are building the same type of community at your blog, which is great to see.

  10. Robin Easton says:

Dear sweet friend, oh my word, I cried watching you, hearing you and experiencing your deeply sincere heart. This hit me so powerfully. My husband and I talked about you all morning after watching this. And the thing that moves us so deeply is that you are one of the MOST sincere people anyone could ever know. I don’t think you even know how to be anything other than your most authentic self.

This is my most favorite video of you, EVER, with you just sitting there on the floor in your jeans and Tee, talking as it came to you. You could not be anymore real to the viewer. It made you so human and deeply heartfelt. I’m stunned. My heart just welled with pride for you. I am so very proud of you Steve.

I am also moved by your ability to see, explore and express the many layers in this book, in my life, those are the layers that have become who I am. When I first wrote this story I didn’t even know I was writing “layers”, but as you spoke I could see that is the way of this book, that is who I am. I was riveted listening to you. It hit me, as you were talking, that the reason you see all these layers is because that is who YOU are. As I’ve grown to better know you, I am forever impressed by the many layers and depths within you. I love how they are increasingly revealing themselves in your writing, It is one of the many things that touches me about you. Never be afraid to fully be who you are, Steve. Because who you are is magnificent. Who you already are is SO on target, that you will never miss the mark. Be bold, because there is boldness in you and you truly will change the world. You ARE changing the world.

I am honored that you took the time to do this, and that you put so much work into it. It is very moving. Both my husband and I send you our deepest love and thank you from our hearts. You are something very special to all who come in contact with you. Much love, Robin

    • Robin, you always manage to humble me with your comments and this one is no different.

Your book was a heart and head toucher and I hope that came across in the video. There were times in the book which were so moving; like the time with the Bandicoot, and the time your father wore red (this made me laugh and also touched me deeply), and the time when you were with the trees, just amazing.

I wish you and your husband so much love, and wish you every success in the world for the book, you’re a star shining bright in the world and your time to show your brightness is here.

Dear Rob, I thank you for your kind words, they REALLY mean a lot to me coming from you. I hold you in high regard.

And, yes, there are so many wonderful people. That is one of the biggest things I’ve learned from being on the internet, the world is FULL of good people. You are one of them. Did you get my email? LOL! Maybe you are as busy as I am right now, and missed it or not had time, not to worry my friend if that is the case. ;)

Also, I really agree with what you said about Steve here. He is so very heartfelt, and it just makes him so magnetic and “contagious”! :) It is one of his great strengths.

Thank you Rob, so appreciate your encouragement!!
      Hugs,
      Robin

    • Hey Rob, thank you so much for you kind words I really do appreciate them. It’s meeting friends like you on the net that makes it easier to be yourself, and the encouragement is great.

As Robin says you are held in high regard in the PD community and anybody who visits your blog will know why that is.

  13. Steven, thank you for this lovely tribute to Robin and her book. I drank up your video at many levels. I was moved by the depth of your respect and appreciation for Robin and what she offers through this book. I was moved too as always by your clear unpretentious genuine expression.
I think it was Rob who said it’s this quality of open heart in you that draws so many people to your blog , to be nourished both by your writing and by the warmth of community you inspire. That is certainly my experience.
Robin’s book is on the side table by my chair and I’m moving along and looking forward very much to writing something about Naked in Eden myself. I can’t do a video because I don’t know how yet…it’s going to have to be some words posted on my blog…Take care Steve. Take care Robin.

    • Hi Chris. Thank you for your kind words as always. I see a lot of what you are doing as going the same way as Robin and honestly believe you have a story that a lot of people need to hear.

I know you’ll love Robin’s book and it’s your words that will help others realise the person you are.

      Thank you Chris.

      • I think Robin’s book is outstanding Steve. Getting into it now. It mirrors for me the beautiful ancient archetype of the Hero’s Journey — the journey we’re all on — the best blueprint for a truly happy and meaningful life there is, or was, or ever will be.

  15. Hi Steven,

Even though I received Robin’s book a few weeks ago, I recently started reading it. It is a great read and it is wonderful to see how much you loved the book. It is great when a book really impacts a reader is such a powerful way.

    And to dear Robin,

I am so grateful to know you and to call you a friend. Your love and authenticity shines through in all that you do. May your words reach millions and may you always be surrounded in beauty! With much love and blessings to you!

Sounds like a very unusual and enlightening book. I like the concept and it sounds like a very timely message.

I’ve visited the El Yunque rainforest in Puerto Rico and can only imagine the kind of inspiration that would come from living there.

I’m adding this one to my reading list, now. Thanks, Steven!

Steve, a video blog of a book review – brilliant. I love it. I have created podcasts, written reviews and even written a letter to a 19th century author to review a book but not a video yet. Very, very good and very nice of you to give such a wonderful review of Robin’s book – I do hope to read this book soon.
