Guided Meditation – Overcoming Procrastination

It’s been a long time since I have done a guided meditation and since I love doing them so much I thought I would do one  today for you.

Since I started this blog nearly 4 years ago I always get asked about procrastination and how to help with it and a lot of my coaching sessions are to help clients overcome procrastination.

Let me know what you think of this, I believe I have managed to clean up the audio a lot from my previous guided mediations so it should sound very professional.

How do I download the Audio files on Procrastination?
Right clicking on Audio start blocks do not link to Down load File option.

Steve, thank you for all the material you offer on your website.
It is greatly appreciated by myself and, I am sure, by most of your fans and supporters.

  2. How do i download it into an Mp3?

  3. This is really great, thank you for sharing it with us! I feel relaxed and inspired at the same time!

  4. Thanks for your comment rachel. I am in the middle of building a new website for all the CYT products and will be putting up a page for the guided meditations. No need to donate, but I appreciate the thought and advice, you’re a star.

    Hi Steven

I tried this yesterday. It’s excellent. I am in the middle of painting and repapering the shelves of a kitchen cupboard which has been looking grim for months and I know I’ll get it finished today. I’m always putting things off till tomorrow.

I think you could sell this as a download or CD or both. Or at least for now, after your recent experience, put an option for a donation with it, as it is a really worthwhile product.

Many thanks . I shall be using it again. And I promise I’ll donate! – N.B. It might take me a while!!

As they say, all the best things come in small packages.

    Rachel.

  6. Love this meditation on procrastination – I know this is what is stopping me really going for my goals in life – I always take the well trodden path even when I know this is not fulfilling rather than enter the unknown. What stops me is procrastination underpinned by fear that people will criticize me – this mediation has really helped me identify what’s really going on and I hope to use it daily whilst I make a start on new approaches in my life. Thanks :)

  7. Steven, is there anything you don’t do when it comes to self-improvement? I listened to this while sitting at my mac but I will try it tomorrow by meditating to your words. Very soothing and I need all the guide I need during meditation. Thank you for sharing.

  8. This is awesome Steven. What an fun spin on a regular blog post. Really nicely done and relaxing. I keep a number of guided meditations on my iPhone from John Kabat-zinn and Andrew Weil as well as a few others. So nice to pop on when things are feeling a little rushed. Such powerful stuff. I recently wrote a review of Learn to Meditate on ReadingForYourSuccess which ended up being a great intro to meditation. Since then I have been to a few retreats and have enjoyed the experience. The power of doing and thinking nothing…

    Thanks!

  9. Thank you, Steven, for the free guided meditation recording. Now, I have a tool to escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, withdraw to myself with this recording in the privacy of my room.

The voice and the music are both conducive to relaxation and meditation. The voice speaks gently and softly in a quite informal fashion, as though a close friend is guiding me through this. I do not have to divide my attention between self-instruction and the performance of what is instructed. I just focus on the performance.

  10. Thanks Steven. Meditation does help us really clear our thoughts and it relaxes us. Thanks for sharing

  12. Steven,

That was a good one although what works for me most of the time is breathing meditation but I’m sure yours will help lots of people.

    • Hi Abubakar, I also like the breathing meditation and it has it’s place. I find a guided meditation works best in the morning as it sets my day up and a breathing meditation is better, for me, in the evening.

  13. Wow nice job on this one. Great value to be giving this away totally free on a blog post. This is going in my bookmarks :)

  14. Steven,

Great resource! I’m a strong advocate for meditation. I quit the terrible habit of smoking cigarettes by doing a simple 7-minute meditation. I know it works!

The idea of guided meditation is good because it makes a foreign process (mediation), for some, into a doable practice.

    Take care!

  17. Very well done Steven,
A guided meditation is the greatest way to take command of the mind. The mind chatters incessantly unless we take direct control. The best way to take control is to practice reflecting deeply on one subject; be it procrastination, making money or simply breathing, that is all that meditation is about. A guided practice is a great way to get there. Whenever we spend the time to meditate, we are able to create our future to unfold as we want it to. Thanks for the post.

  18. Great Job Steve, I’ve never come across you guided meditations before and it was very well done!

  19. Hi Julius, thanks for your comments I appreciate them.

    I don’t have a transcript just now.

  20. This made me realize that sometimes, it’s more easy to meditate with the help of another person instead of doing it on your own.

I’d also like to ask if it would be possible for you to have a text transcript of this file? I’ve a few friends who are hard of hearing, and they’d be truly glad to learn about this.
