I am the owner of this blog and write about personal development with my passions being belief formation, thoughts, perceptions and emotions. You can get my FREE video course to help Change Your Life at www.AlterYourJacket.com

One of the best ideas to come from the internet community is opensource.  Opensource software, and opensource learning.  Perhaps one of the best sites for opensource learning is ted.com If you have never heard of TED it is a site which shares ideas from people from all walks of life on how to make our life better with Technology, Entertainment and Design (TED).

I have chosen 29 videos which I have watched over the last few years which made me stop and think about the bigger picture.  Some are funny, some are educational, some are inspirational but every single one of them will engage your brain in some way.

I hope you enjoy them as I have over the last few years and feel free to post the links to your favourite ones.

I love these! What a great list! The only one I would add is my favorite : Sir Ken Robinson. I laugh every time I watch it. http://www.ted.com/talks/lang/eng/ken_robinson_says_schools_kill_creativity.html

I’ve been a big fan of TED lately. There are many more great TED talks, but you have done a great job putting together this list.

Richard Branson’s life at 30,000 feet got me started with TED:

Hi again,

Hehe, I knew you should have already known TED by your way of thinking.. Open minded.. Nice :-) But I’m surprised that the Paradox of Choice wasn’t listed… It’s my favorite one: http://www.ted.com/talks/barry_schwartz_on_the_paradox_of_choice.html
I’ve already seen some of these 29 videos, and they are fantastic… I’m going to watch the missing ones right away :-)

Thanks again,
Pedro

Hi Steven:
Great job. Thanks a lot for the whole list. Beside, Ken Robinson, I would suggest the video of Benjamin Zander too.

I love, love, love TED talks.

Although I generally don’t get to watch them at work, I keep them in the background so I can listen. Every video seems to be better than the last; so many inspirational people.

I particularly enjoy the science and tech related talks – futurism.
