Suggest a new wordpress theme and win $50

Author: Steven Aitchison

The owner of this blog. Proud father, doting husband, blogger, hire me as freelance writer, and addiction worker

I am on the lookout for a new Wordpress theme and have been looking around the net for a simple, exciting, easy to read and reader friendly theme.

I particulalry like www.zenhabits.net theme and am looking for something similar to this.  Then I got to thinking why not you, the reader, of this blog suggest a new theme for me.

So, I am looking for a simple, exciting design which is widget ready, WP 2.7 compatible with an easily customisable header as I will be making a new logo to brand for the blog.  It should have an RSS feed in the header, be a two column design and have a wide width.

Yes I could have one designed but I would rather throw it out there and find out if anyone can suggest a theme and be part of the redesign of the site.

So are you up for it can you suggest a theme for this blog and win yourself $50 in the process?  Just post one link per comment and affiliate ids will be allowed as long as it fits the spec.  You can post a link to a free theme or a premium theme.  Any comments with speculative or with link building in mind will be deleted.

Looking forward to seeing the wordpress themes which come up.

Well, I am looking at your site and the one you said you liked, and I think maybe you’d like Chiq’s Rewire theme? It’s Free :)

You might also like this one if you don’t mind tweaking the css a little:

Good luck, it’s hard work to find that perfect theme! Thanks for the opportunity to win sharing these with you!

I have already looked at the bluesky and bluemist ones and thought about them. I really like the elegant themes gallery and what they have to offer. Thanks for submitting

I don’t have a particular theme in mind, but you could check out newwpthemes.net for quite a few nice looking free and premium themes.

Thesis from DIYthemes.com Great for readability out of the box. Unmatchable control over features and look and feel. Easy to get someone to tweak and easy to change looks without changing theme.

You like Zen Habits, Which is simplistic. WordPress Theme Designer offer many simple themes for free. I would have suggested them but that would equal 6 comments. So, here is link to the page:

Rewire and Alpha themes there are pretty good. They are customizable too.

Rewire has RSS icon in the header.

Steven, you may want to look at the Carrington by Alex King at http://carringtontheme.com/

It is actually a very advanced theme framework with unlimited customization options. The theme out of the box is nice too.

I don’t have a particular theme in mind, but I came across a great theme that is targeted for Valentines day//with the background all in heart shaped buttons. I can’t remember the site but I will put a link as soon as I find it.

I usually prefer solidthemes.com when it comes to WP themes. I hope you’d find a good one for yourself. And do let us know who wins those 50$ :)

I use the Lifestyle theme from Revolution 2 – I spent ages looking at different themes and felt this one was the best for my needs.
