So, in other words, the only thing to become a better performer is to improve yourself? How anout our bosses? what about feed-back, and - most importantly - money?

I recently moved to Oz, because it's so much cooler here, also work wise: People, including bosses, are much friendlier, you do get a decent salary and plenty time off. That's a motivation, people. Here I feel compelled to give what I've got. Back when I was living in Israel this was not the case at all. There you are being squeezed like a lemon for nothing in return and every couple of years you get laid off and have to fight to get your compensation and your last salary.

Very well said, Lottery. I've got the exact problem @my work. Got cool ideas, like the job (basically) and do also meaningful things. But apart from being not paid by performanc, I am also underpaid and don't seem to make a difference. What to do?

It's hard to keep motivated in an office, little incentive in a lot of them to learn new skills due to fixed pay structure (i.e you get paid the same amount each week/month no matter how hard you work).

Skills are the result of learning and practicing. So, it's great when a person has a chance to implement some new knowledges in his/her everyday work. It makes the process more interesting and in most cases more efficient. If your boss sees your enthusiasm s/he will certainly encourage in some way (if you have a clever boss :)

There comes point where I get bored with my job, and I think lots of people experienced that also. And that negative feeling, greatly affect the daily output like being unproductive. So it's important that we should love our job and enjoy everything that we are doing. Thanks for sharing great tips on how to enjoy work! I learn a lot from it.

I really enjoyed writing this article because there are so many ways to enjoy a job. We usually just look at money or accomplishments, but if we dive a little deeper we can extract a lot of joy from simple tasks too.
