You are right--everybody is a failure. Perhaps one of the greatest failures in America is one our biggest successes: Abraham Lincoln. He failed so many times at what he was trying to do but he never quit. In the end, he became President, kept our country together during a Civil War...and, oh yeah, freed the slaves.

Textbooks merely state observations based on what we can see, feel, or understand.

The Bible explains aspects of life that you cannot simply observe. It is purely human to assume you can do everything on your own. No textbook will ever explain how the first living thing came to be.

We are all limited in some way by our beliefs. I'm a big fan and student of John Maxwell and this week I was listening to a podcast of one of his presentations. He made the point that sometimes we look at people who are successful in any field and we try to attribute it all to talent saying things to ourselves like "oh, if I had that ability I would be a success too." However, long lasting success that isn't short lived and the proverbial 15 min. of fame is always the result of execution of success principles. A person can have the talent of 10, but if they are lazy and do nothing, they have nothing. On the other hand, another person may have limited ability, but BELIEVES they are destined to do great things. So they go to work on themselves and their lives and over time, their life and skill level change dramatically. Good list Steven

We have beliefs about everything! From our early experiences with people and events, we develop beliefs about many things. The irony is that, although we employ a certain type of rudimentary logic in shapiing those beliefs, we are still too young to use clear-headed, cognitive, critical thinking. (That capacity does not usually arrive until long after all those beliefs have settled into our synapses, far below the surface of our awareness.) We lack the capacity to choose our beliefs during those vulnerable early years, and so they become Habit Stamps, stamped into our subconscious. By the time we are adults, we have accumulated a wide collection of them.

If you are stuck anywhere in your life at 'almost' you are at the effect of your beliefs. This program may help - http://www.GetTheGreatLife.com. Tuesday, September 29th at 4:30pm PT

Absolutely right!

This is one thing it took me awhile to realize in my own life. It's kind of hard to find these beliefs sometimes that you need to change. However it's definetely worth it to spend the time and try to figure out what beliefs you have to change, then change them!
