Adam, I am reading your post ten months after, so I wonder how things went.
Remember no matter what, you are not reinventing the wheel, you can do this, and this can be the best thing that has ever happened to you. Children are a gift because they get us to stop living for ourselves, and it is then that we learn what life is worth.

Adam
It's been a few days since you posted so you'll be feeling different. Any chance of an update on how you feel? Have you and your girlfriend decided on what to do, keep the baby or have an abortion? My instinct is that you want to keep the baby. From my own experience I have discovered that instinct can serve you well. Saying that, you have to acknowledge what that instinct is rooted in, i.e. is it fundamentally a 'good' instinct. Good luck.

Becoming a father seems like a world away to me, but im sure that sometime in the next 10-15 years it will happen. My parents split up when I was very young but constantly saw my Dad every other weekend. Im sure I would have turned out a different person if I didn't get this time with him. Bonding trips like going fishing and playing football is important for Dads who no longer live with their kids. But this is a whole different matter. Nice article.

It takes a lot of energy to shape the lives God has entrusted to us as fathers. We need to make the most of our time with our children, so that we never look back and wish, "If only I had spent more time, or given more praise, or told them how much I loved them." I want to give my best to being a father. Even if my children decide to adopt values contrary to what Karen and I have taught them, I never, ever want them to say it's because they felt like they got the leftovers in my life.

Its true , i also have 2 boys and i can understand how lovely it is to be a dad and how difficult it can be sometimes ,because dad is like a Megnet who hold the family and who is always there to listen and childeren find it very easy to talk to him about anything and everything whatever is there in the world they wanted to say they know that they can say it to there dad and make there hearts light .
Dad is the person to whom they come for Knowladge and correction, they know that there is a person in our lives who will guide us to the right path .
Dad is the person to whom the come when they get scloding from the Mothers and they always find Dads are the shelters, and on the top Dad is someone who teaches them to walk and to ride a bicycle, skateboard and roller blades and they know dad is someone who can bring there wish come true just like that .......wow it is great to be a Dad.

iam missing a babygirl in my life i wish i could have one and i dont know but i have a strong feeling that it must be wonderful to be a dad to a lovely ,sweet little girl.

Thanks
